Jessica Romey, MA, LMHC, CADC, NCC

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC), and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). I provide individual and family therapy for adults, adolescents, and children in an outpatient counseling setting. I also provide trainings and workshops on topics such as Family Therapy, Stress Management, and Helping People Change.

I received my bachelor of arts degree in psychology with a minor in sociology and my master of arts degree in mental health counseling from the University of Northern Iowa.

My past experience includes work as Outpatient Coordinator and Clinical Manager for Children and Families of Iowa (CFI), Cornerstone Recovery. Prior to becoming a supervisor at Cornerstone Recovery, I provided mental health counseling at CFI to adults, children and adolescents on an individual basis as well as group counseling for adolescents in the outpatient substance abuse program and dual-diagnosis inpatient facility.  Furthermore, I utilized my skills as a Resource Manager through Quakerdale in New Providence, IA. At Quakerdale I gained experience in foster care, in-home counseling, residential, and adoptive services for children and adolescents.

My specialties include adult mental health counseling, family therapy, couples therapy, group counseling and adolescent therapy in the areas of depression, anxiety, addictions and general interpersonal relationship problems. I take a strength-based and solution focused approach to counseling. Furthermore, I am wholly influenced by the works of psychotherapist Irvin Yalom, M.D. Overall, I have a passion for understanding family dynamics as well as our internal motivation for improving our own lives.
